Verona (Thu/Sat) from £48
Spend some time at the home of Romeo and Juliet, Verona. Enjoy the fascinating monuments, beautiful shops and friendly Italian welcome. A programme of free walks is organised, Jun to Sept, by the local Limone Trust. Trails wind up into the hilly countryside and provide a challenge to hikers. The views, however, are well worth the effort.
The pleasant stroll along Limone's lakeside promenade takes you past many tempting cafés. Take the ferry or hydrofoil to the neighbouring resorts of Gardone, Riva and Malcesine, for a wider choice of routes.
