Bad Reichenhall is located in the very south of the country, close to the border with Austria (and therefore just a short transfer from Salzburg airport). It is a pretty spa town surrounded by magnificent mountains. Slightly further north is Passau, from where you can join a wonderful rive cruise along the 'blue' Danube through Austria and Slovakia to Hungary.
