Head straight for the resort or spend a couple of extra days en route with some fantastic overnight stopovers available in a variety of locations.

Eurotunnel FlexiPlus
Upgrade to FlexiPlus for use of Eurotunnel’s exclusive FlexiPlus check-in lanes. You also have use of the FlexiPlus lounge (open 6am-10pm) with complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and light refreshments, one free newspaper per car and use of the telephone/fax services (pay locally for calls). Prices available on request. Please note that vehicles over 1.85m high cannot access the FlexiPlus lounge.
Eurotunnel
Folkestone - Calais (35 minutes)
Eurotunnel is the quickest and most convenient way of crossing the channel with a crossing time of only 35 minutes from Folkestone to Calais. Eurotunnel’s drive on/drive off process is quick, easy and hassle free with little waiting around time. Eurotunnel also has the benefit of not being affected by adverse weather conditions which makes a reliable service.
365 days a year and up to 3 departures per hour during peak periods. Eurotunnel trains are all air-conditioned and have toilets on board.
Please note that Self-drive holidays are available to any European destinations and that you must arrive in resort and depart on the same day as those travelling by air but you have complete flexibility on how long you take to travel to and from your resort. Remember also that your hotel room or apartment might not be ready until later in the afternoon. It is not always possible to provide changing facilities but temporary facilities will be made available for storing your luggage. You cannot make any changes to your ferry crossing once it has been confirmed. If you do, the normal amendment charges apply (see page 203). Please also ensure that you advise at time of booking how many cars will be taken (there are extra costs for minivans and 4x4 vehicles).
We have arranged some excellent rates with leading hotel chains througout France and Germany. Please refer to page 15 for details and include this when making your booking.
NOTE: Austria & Switzerland Driving Restrictions - visitors using motorways will need to be in possession of a Motorway Vignette. The Police can fine those not in possession of one. They are obtainable at all major border crossings and at large petrol stations.

Break up the drive with an overnight stopover and arrive at your destination, relaxed and rejuvenated. Choose from our selection of stopovers throughout France and Germany, conveniently located en route to the Alps. Choose from Beaune (TL3612), Dijon (TL3799), Reims (TL3615), Troyes (TL3802), Würzburg (TL1689) or Stuttgart (TL1688). Bookings can be made by our reservations team from just £95 per room per night; these have to be booked separately as accommodation only with the TL prefix.
When booking a self-drive holiday, you will need adequate car insurance for your entire journey. Take advantage of our special cover that will provide peace of mind, including roadside assistance, emergency car hire, hotel and travel expenses and recovery of your vehicle to the UK, among other things, meaning you will be fully covered in most major situations.
