Montreux, on the sunny side of Lake Geneva, enjoys a wonderful climate. Surrounded by vineyard clad hills and snow-capped peaks it is a cosmopolitan town renowned for its jazz festival, lakeside promenade, shops, cafés and the famous Chillon Castle. Belle Epoque paddle steamers chug from port to port and the Golden Pass Express train with its Pullman cars runs right along the shore.
