Twin Centre Suggestion
TOUR SUGGESTION Stay in Montreux as part of a tour. 1st class with Swiss Rail, the Golden Pass Tour travels through the inspiring alpine scenery of Switzerland as the tour visits three lakeside towns. The tour starts in Lucerne with the famous Chapel Bridge, then moves onto Interlaken it's lakes and the Bernese Oberland Mountains, and the tour is rounded off in picturesque Montreux. See page 192 for further details.
Walking along the promenade and strolling around the town admiring its architecture can be fascinating. Montreux boasts one of the most pleasing lakeside walks from Villeneuve the whole way to Vevey. There are walks to and around the vineyards on the sunny slopes of the hills climbing up from Lake Geneva. More adventurous walkers should take a trip to the Rocheur-de-Naye. It's possible to walk further than you would normally and use the excellent transport network for your return journey. uuu
