At 1650m, Mürren is a traditional Walser mountain village with it's routes still firmly set in a farming institution. Popular with tourists both in winter and summer, the stunning views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau make it easy to see why. Don't miss the revolving restaurant at the summit, used in filming for Bond's 'Her Majesty's secret service'.
Our opinion
A cosy mountain village lying at the foot of the Schilthorn · take a day trip to the nearby Trümmelbach falls – behind the rock wall lies the glacial gorge and impressive underground waterfalls · treat yourself to an evening at the Obersteinberg Hotel in the nearby Lauterbrunnen valley – all the cooking is done on a wood stove and the hotel is illuminated by candlelight
Transfer time

Getting about
