Resort Information

The majestic mountains of the Swiss and French Alps form a stunning backdrop for the sunlit shores of Lake Geneva. Terraces of vineyards cover the foothills, where half hidden picturesque villages lay waiting for you to discover, with open air markets, alpine gardens, artisan shops and local foods and wines. This is a 7 night tour starting on a Saturday. You will stay in Vevey, a quaint lakeside market town at the Hotel Famille. The itinerary of excursions  we have organised is designed to show off the very best of the Swiss Riviera.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 (Sat) – UK to Geneva
Arrival at Geneva airport and train transfer to the Hotel Famille in  Vevey.

Day 2 (Sun) – Free day
A day to find your feet and explore Vevey at your own pace.

Day 3 (Mon) – Rochers de Naye
After a journey to remember on the rack railway, the view from the peak of Rochers de Naye is breathtaking. The Rambertia Alpine Gardens await visitors with over 800 alpine plants and Marmot's Paradise.

Day 4 (Tues) – Boat trip to Château de Chillon
Your boat departs Vevey for the Château de Chillon, built on a rocky island along the antique road to Italy and inspiration for Byron's poem 'The Prisoner of Chillon' (castle entrance not included but is half price with Riviera Card).

Day 5 (Wed) – Free day
Free time to do as little or as much as you’d like. The Olympic Museum in Lausanne is only a short train ride away (local travel and entrance charges apply).

Day 6 (Thurs) – Chocolate train
Travel 1st class in authentic ‘Belle Epoque’ train carriages dating from 1915 returning Montreux-Gruyères-Broc. Coffee and croissant breakfast included, as is admission to the cheese factory in Gruyères and Gruyères Castle. On to the Cailler-Nestle chocolate factory with a tour and chocolate tasting! (not available before 30th May, £30 reduction for bookings before this date)

Day 7 (Fri) – Golden pass round trip
A 4 hour round trip to the culinary town of Gstaad, including a ride on the world's first Panoramic train. Experience the grandeur of Gstaad and Switzerland’s unfolding landscape. 

Day 8 (Sat) – Geneva to UK
Train transfer from Vevey to Geneva for your flight back to your UK airport.
