Nestling on the Adriatic and surrounded by hills draped in vines, olive and cypress trees, Portoroz ('the Port of Roses'), is Slovenia's premier coastal resort. Just around the corner is the coastal jewel, Piran, the birth place of the Italian violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartini. Steeped in history and exuding charm, Piran is characterised by narrow twisting alleyways, hidden courtyards and an impressive square and cathedral. Both of these wonderful resorts enjoy a warm and temperate climate.
