This charming mountain village is famed for being the adventure capital of Slovenia. With the river Soca its main feature, there is white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking and a vast range of other outdoor activities on offer. It is also renowned for its fantastic fly-fishing and the river Soca, with its fantastic, clear emerald waters is home to the famous marble trout. The fantastic mountain bike park is also nearby, as well as a staggering 290km of trails, from easy to very demanding. In addition to the varied and extensive activity programme on offer, the Kluže fortress with its fascinating history and the award winning museum of WW1 at the nearby town of Kobarid is definitely worth a visit. This idyllic valley was the setting for many scenes from the fantastic 'Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian' film. The area of Bovec covers a territory stretching from Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak, to the banks of the Soca, the most exquisite of Slovenia's rivers. There are numerous walking opportunities to be had, where mighty mountain peaks weave together with enchanting streams, rivers, and waterfalls to make some wonderful scenery.
