The town itself is bustling with activity in high season, with local markets selling Polish crafts and a main street lined with inviting shops and cafés. Low season is quieter. Getting about
There is a local bus service and taxis are also readily available and both are good value. A funicular takes you to the summit of Gubalowka and a cable car from Zakopane links to Kasprowy.
