Krakow, the former royal capital of Poland, is one of Europe's best kept secrets - a medieval city which has been completely unspoilt. Inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage sites, Krakow is centred around the Main Market Square with the famous Cloth Hall and bell tower. The square is full of lovely cafés where you can sample Polish cuisine at extremely reasonable prices. Spend the day visiting some of the magnificent sites including the Royal Castle, or browse the shops selling amber jewellry and Polish arts and crafts. However you spend your days in Krakow you will be surrounded by beautiful sites and receive an extremely warm welcome.
Our opinion
· With an emphasis on culture the beautiful city of Krakow has something for everyone to enjoy · The Old Town has some amazing architecture, inviting street cafés and great value shopping · Take a romantic carriage ride to the castle and around the Old Town • Visit the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill • Climb 239 steps in St. Mary's Church Tower to hear the bugles play as they have done for 600 years • Visit Kazimierz, the Jewish area now lovingly restored by heirs of former inhabitants • Float along the river on a boat trip
