Resort Information

A new road takes you quickly from the airport to Santana, a small village on the north-east coast of the island. The village centre has the basic amenities you may need during your stay including a small tourist office and a shop. As well as a few traditional triangular houses (for which Santana is famous), you'll find traditional craft-work such as wicker baskets, embroidery, wool clothing, straw dolls and warm, knitted hats with ear-flaps! Santana is also home to the Madeira Park where you can learn all about the history of the island. As you head inland from the village, you can explore some of the best walking on the island, taking you right up to the island's highest peaks.
