The pretty town of Torbole makes a great destination for an activity filled holiday. It is situated at the north of Lake Garda with wonderful views down the lake and a magnificent mountain backdrop. The town's harbour is at its centre, surrounded by attractive terracotta tiled buildings and picturesque piazzas, and from here you can take the lake's ferry service to other lakeside towns and villages. This area of the lake is particularly popular with water sports enthusiasts so you'll have the spectacle of a sailing regatta or windsurfers out on the lake. As well as by ferry, it is also easy to explore bus or even by bike on one of the many cycle routes - you can hire bikes locally - the perfect way to work off the delicious local cuisine! The plentiful choice of restaurants in Torbole offer traditional Italian food and fish fresh from the lake, and of course the local wines is just the right accompaniment!
The hamlet of Nago (where the Hotel Continental is located) sits above the main town of Torbole, giving superb views. This is lovely location in which to relax and unwind, and perhaps enjoy some walking or biking in the surrounding mountains. A bus services links the hamlet to Torbole (except on Sundays). Our opinion
• Torbole is the perfect base from which to enjoy a range of activities and explore the north end of the lake, on foot or by bike, by bus or by ferry.
