Maderno holidays

Maderno

Maderno is a pretty town located on a promontory just north of Gardone Riviera amid the flourishing multicoloured Mediterranean vegetation. Here lemon and orange trees blend fragrantly with oleanders and olive groves, while palm trees line the spectacularly long lakeside promenade. Maderno's pretty village has retained much of its traditional charm as well as its 12th century monuments - the Basilica of Sant Andrea and the ionic column opposite the parish church - a reminder of the days when this region was part of the powerful Venetian Empire. As well as being, quite simply, a delightful place to stay, Maderno with its excellent ferry service makes a good base from which to explore the other resorts on the shores of Lake Garda.
