Lake Como, the deepest lake in Europe, has much to offer. The resorts of Menaggio, Tremezzo, Cadenabbia and Lenno, are situated on the sunny, western shore with Bellagio perched on the promontory that divides Como and Lecco. Bellagio and Menaggio, the largest resorts, are characterised by a buzzing cosmopolitan atmosphere with quaint, cobbled alleyways and café-filled piazzas. The adjacent villages of Tremezzo and Cadenabbia hug the road from Como to Switzerland and provide great bases for exploring.
Our opinion
• There are concerts at the Villa Carlotta in July & August • Explore some of the many villas and gardens surrounding Lake Como. The most famous is Villa Carlotta between Cadenabbia and Tremezzo. There are smaller gardens at Villa Monastero and Villa Cipressi in Varenna.
Short breaks
If you've not got time for a week long holiday, or just fancy a few extra days away, then our short breaks are the perfect choice. 3 and 4 night short breaks are available in Lake Como at the Hotel Grand Cadenabbia.

Getting about
