Makarska town is the focal point of the superb Makarska Riviera, extending over 60km. A series of long beaches stretch along this wonderfu coastline, with the most fantastic crystal clear blue sea, pine forests and lush vegetation, all sheltered in the foot of magnificent Biokovo mountain. The town has a harbour and central promenade, filled with trendy boutiques, restaurants and bars. Anyone looking for a livelier holiday can party in Makarska town. Try a cave bar, built into natural caves along the seafront. There are numerous activities available in and around Makarska. An array of watersports; parasailing, jet-ski, scuba diving school, pedalos and more. On land there are some great hiking trails, you can rent-a-bike or play tennis. For thrill-seekers, paragliding from Biokovo mountain is an amazing experience, offering incredible views of the sea & islands. Rafting on the nearby river Cetina is fantastic; the rapids are not too difficult and the scenery is breathtaking. There are also plenty of boat trips available to the nearby islands. Alternatively, simply relax, soak up the sun and take a dip at one of the beaches along this glorious coastline.
