Located just a few kilometres west of Opatija, Lovran is a quaint village with wonderful, small cobbled streets and is a more tranquil resort than its larger neighbour. Named after the laurel trees (lovor) that grow everywhere around the town and surrounding area, all the hotels are only moments away from the 'lungomare' (the celebrated 12km promenade). This is a great way to explore this coastline and enjoy the stunning scenery, pretty pebbled beaches and picturesque villages. The whole of the riviera sits at the foot of the imposing Mount Ucka and there are plenty of walking opportunities in the hills around the area. Grab your walking boots and take you pick from a variety of routes through the wooded slopes. Alternatively, there is a frequent, efficient bus service that can take all over the coastline of this wonderful riviera.
