Austria's capital lies at the foot of the 'Wienerwald' or Vienna Woods on the banks of the River Danube. It is well known for its outstanding music, culture and tradition. Historically, Vienna was the centre of an empire of twelve different nationalities, which still reflects in the beauty of this multi-faceted and cosmopolitan city. Nowadays, traditional horse drawn carriages, cafés, the circular boulevard surrounding the city and St. Stephen's Cathedral create the essence of this truly imperial city.
