Walking
There are 80 kilometres of marked paths in and around St. Gilgen, all easily accessible from the centre of the resort. Walk through the village of Winkl and then ascend the Schafberg mountain fantastic views of up to 12 different lakes, after a drink take the cog railway down into St. Wolfgang and jump on the ferry back to St. Gilgen. There are also a good variety of walks from the top of the Zwölferhorn gondola.

Ramblers
You can walk along the lakeside to Fürberg. Your Thomson representative will be happy to point you in the right direction if you wish to try something more demanding.
Hikers
Hiking to the peaks of the surrounding mountains provides spectacular scenery following challenging ascents.
