Scheffau, a name which derives from the German "schiefe Au", or steep meadow, is an idyllic village set on the hillside beneath the Wilder Kaiser mountain range. With its traditional chalet-style houses winding up the mountainside and a charming village centre with cafés, bars and restaurants, this is a wonderful base from which to explore the Tirol.
