This city of music is a delightful place to visit. Mozart's birthplace, historically the "Rome of the North" and set to the "Sound of Music" film, there is so much to see and do whatever your interest.
Our opinion
· A charming city on the banks of the Salzach river, Salzburg offers something for every age and taste · Don't miss a visit to Hellbrunn Castle with its magical water gardens · Visit the Cathedral and Catacombs, the beautiful Mirabell gardens and the wonderful Hohensalzburg fortress · Take a leisurely boat ride along the river or explore the cobbled streets by horse and carriage · Treat yourself to a "Sacher torte" chocolate cake or enjoy a cooling beer in one of Salzburg's breweries
