Originally a market town, the village boasts an idyllic setting in the Gastein Valley, with marked footpaths leading off on either side of the village through woodland up into the stunning surrounding mountains, affording fantastic views and beautiful walks. Next to the municipal hall, wander through the village's Kurpark, a relaxing haven next to the wonderful Alpen Therme - the spa centre where thermal waters fill the pools.
